Visit UK as
General Visitor: As a general visitor, you can visit the United Kingdom for up to six months, or up to 12 months if you are accompanying an academic visitor.
Child Visitor: A child visitor, who must be under the age of 18, can visit the United Kingdom for up to six months, or up to 12 months if they have entry clearance and are accompanying an academic visitor.
Student Visitor: If you want to come to the UK in order to do a short course of study during your visit, you can apply to do so as a student visitor. The period when you intend to be in the UK must not exceed six months.
Marriage or Civil Partnership Visitor: You can come to the UK as a visitor to get married or register a civil partnership but your length of visit will be 6 months or less.
Sponsoring a General Visitor: You will have to support with list of valid documents to sponsore a general visitor to come to the UK

Settling in UK: After you have lived legally in the UK for a certain length of time, you may be able to apply for permission to settle here. This is known as indefinite leave to remain.
Visiting UK: You will come to the United Kingdom as a visitor. You will allow to stay upto 6 months in most cases.
